Safety Rules & Legal

The Quest Drop gets people outside, and that only works if everyone stays safe and respectful. These rules are part of our Terms of Service.

Player safety rules

  1. Every quest is optional. Skip anything that doesn't feel right for you.
  2. Public places only. Never enter private property, closed areas or anywhere you need permission you don't have.
  3. Follow local laws and the rules of any venue you visit.
  4. Stay aware. Don't use your phone while walking near traffic, cycling or driving. Never take photos from roads, rail lines, ledges, rooftops or water edges.
  5. Respect people. Don't photograph people without consent, never photograph children, and don't approach anyone who doesn't want to be approached.
  6. Mind the time and weather. Quest in daylight or well-lit, busy areas. Use the bad-weather backup when conditions are poor.
  7. No alcohol, drugs or risky dares as part of any quest.
  8. Protect your privacy. Avoid showing your home, your address, license plates or house numbers in photos.

Quest Safety Rules (for every quest we publish)

Every quest, whether written by us or a Quest Leader, is screened automatically and reviewed before it drops. A quest is rejected if it:

  • involves anything illegal, including trespassing, damage, graffiti or theft;
  • involves alcohol, drugs, vaping, gambling or adult content;
  • involves driving, heights, water, fire, stunts or other physical danger;
  • requires approaching, touching or filming strangers;
  • requires being out late at night or in isolated places;
  • requires spending more than a small amount, or is only a purchase in disguise;
  • can't be done alone, or excludes people with limited mobility without an alternative.

Global quests must also work in any city, use no currency amounts, and include a bad-weather backup where possible.

Community guidelines

  • Proof must be your own photo, taken live, at the time of the quest.
  • No location spoofing, multiple accounts or other cheating. Cheating results in XP removal and may lead to a ban.
  • Captions must be respectful. No hate, harassment, threats, spam or personal information about others.
  • Report anything unsafe or abusive to thequestdrop.help@gmail.com.

How verification works

Proof is checked automatically: the photo must be taken live in the app, your location must be in an open city and within any required area, and the photo must not have been used before. Submissions that look unusual are held for a quick review before XP is awarded. Decisions can be reviewed if you contact us.

Quests hosted by businesses are labeled with the business name. Perks are provided by the business, not by Quantum Edge Solutions LLC, and are subject to availability and the business's own terms.

Reporting a problem

We review reports promptly and may remove content, pause quests, or suspend accounts. If anyone is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number (911 in the U.S.) first.
